As part of its continued investment in its partners, URL Media, a network of media organizations that serve, support and center communities of color and whose leadership and teams represent these populations, unveils a new website to amplify stories that are critical to the national discourse and centers these rapidly growing communities in the U.S. The platform developed uniquely for URL Media partners is a mix of manual curation and automated publishing, featuring Top Stories and Editor’s Pick as well as sections that capture partners’ content such as Power & Policy and History and Identity.

The site is also an opportunity for advertisers to better gauge the power of URL’s partners with hyperlocal engagement, representing national conversations and driving results for brands. Advertisers will get a taste of how some brands have successfully partnered with URL, which has helped deliver almost $1M to BIPOC publishers. The website was developed in partnership with Michael Grant of Get Current Studio.

“For far too long, Black and brown narratives have been distorted, under-reported or ignored completely. I’ve seen this first hand and it’s why our mission at URL is to ensure BIPOC media organizations have the resources to help amplify our stories. URL-Media.com is a great example of what it means to invest in and amplify excellent reporting and the very organizations that center the voices that are driving the national conversation and will unequivocally impact the U.S. elections and beyond,” said Sara M. Lomax, co-founder and president of URL Media.

“Our partners are telling some of the most important stories that should be getting more eyeballs and attention, but the internet and algorithms don’t favor them. We designed this tool that does not solely rely on a newsroom’s budget and capacity limitations but creates another opportunity for URL partners to connect with new audiences, potential partners and advertisers,” said S. Mitra Kalita, co-founder and CEO of URL Media. “URL-Media.com should become a necessary stop for anyone trying to diversify their media diet and get a pulse on the communities that do the work to uphold our democracy.”

In addition to highlighting partners and the important stories their newsrooms are reporting on, the new revamped site showcases URL Media’s diversified revenue model, which includes its recruitment and talent development arm. URL is leading the next level of recruitment across the media, tech, nonprofit, marketing, public relations, academia and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging spaces, having led searches, placed talent and hosted more than 100 candidate sessions and workshops.
